How we handle the personal data you give us when you join the kaimo waitlist.

1. Who we are

This site (kaimo.co.uk) and the kaimo waitlist are operated as a UK sole trader by:

• Kilian Hikaru Scheutwinkel, trading as kaimo

For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, the sole trader named above is the data controller of any personal data described in this policy. A data protection officer is not appointed; one is not required for the scale and nature of this processing.

2. What personal data we collect

When you submit a waitlist form on this site we collect:

• Your email address — the value you type into the form.
• A form-source tag — either hero or cta, identifying which of the two forms you used. No information about you personally.
• Submission metadata — date and time of submission, your IP address and your browser user-agent string. This is captured automatically by our form-processing provider (see §5) and is used for spam prevention and abuse mitigation.

We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment details, location data, or special-category data through this site. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers. No cookies are set by this domain.

3. Why we use your data

• To manage the waitlist and notify you when private-beta access opens.
• To send occasional product updates relating to kaimo (no more than a handful per year).
• To reply if you contact us directly with a question.

We do not profile you, run automated decision-making, sell your data, or share it for third-party marketing.

4. Lawful basis

We rely on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR, and on consent under Regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) for sending you marketing emails.

By submitting a waitlist form on this site, having been shown a notice that links to this policy, you consent to the processing described here. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@kaimo.co.uk or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Who processes your data on our behalf

We use two third-party processors. We have no other recipients.

6. International transfers

Both processors above host data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards permitted under Article 46 of the UK GDPR — specifically the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and, where applicable, the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. 7. How long we keep your data

We keep your waitlist email until six months after kaimo enters general availability. After that we will either delete your email or, if we want to continue contacting you, ask you to consent again. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Submission logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) held by Formspree are retained under their own retention schedule; see the Formspree privacy policy.

8. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you:

1. Be informed — about how your data is used (this policy).
2. Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
3. Rectification — correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
4. Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
5. Restriction — ask us to suspend processing in defined circumstances.
6. Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable form.
7. Object — object to processing based on consent or legitimate interests.
8. Withdraw consent — withdraw the consent you gave when joining the waitlist.
9. Rights related to automated decision-making and profiling — we do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling with your data, so this right does not engage in practice.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@kaimo.co.uk. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory authority:

10. Cookies and tracking

This site does not set any cookies and does not run any analytics, advertising or fingerprinting trackers. When you submit a waitlist form, your browser makes a request to formspree.io; Formspree may set cookies on its own domain at that point under its own policy. We do not embed any Formspree code on this page beyond the form submission.

11. Children

This service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has submitted their email, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes — for example, a new processor, a new use of your data, or a change of legal basis — we will update this page, change the "Last updated" date, and notify waitlist subscribers by email before the change takes effect.
